Keep up to date with all the latest news happening in school at the moment.
Our Halloween Disco was a great highlight before school finished for the mid-term break. The school hall was transformed and all the children enjoyed a morning of fun; filled with spookiness, treats and dancing!
The pupils were treated to some amazing music from our very own DJ and everyone was very impressed by all the amazing costumes on display!
Happy Halloween from everyone in St Mary's PS Dunsford!
Enjoy the holidays, stay safe and we look forward to welcoming everyone back on Monday 6th November.
You may be aware that St Mary’s P.S, Dunsford has been oversubscribed for many years and each year we continue to receive high demand from parents seeking to enrol their child in our new Primary 1 class.
In order to assist in our planning and to ensure we are in the best possible position regarding new Primary 1 entrants in September 2024 please complete the attached Expression of Interest Form if you or any family members would like to enrol your child in our Primary 1 class starting in September 2024.
I would also appreciate your support to please advise if you are aware of any neighbours’ child or other parishioners who would also like to enrol their child in the new Primary 1 class in September 2024.

As part of the build up to Halloween we held a pumpkin carving competition across the school with groups within each class having the opportunity to create, design and carve their very own pumpkins.
The children had great fun completing their pumpkins and the winning group from each class received a Halloween Goody Bag for their efforts!
Keep up the great work! ๐
Well done to everyone who put themselves forward for both roles and we appreciate your commitment to making St. Mary’s the best school for our all our pupils!
Our two entries from Primary 5/6 and Primary 7 have safely arrived at Montalto Estate as part of their Halloween Scarecrow Competition and they look absolutely fantastic!
The children had great fun making these with thanks going to Mrs Clarke, parent of Aisling in Primary 7 for all her help in creating our wonderful scarecrows.
All classes from Primary 1 to Primary 7 have been fully engaged in Maths Week Ireland activities this week with a range of fun numeracy activities taking place throughout the school from IZAK 9 lessons to TT Rockstars competitions.
At assembly today certificates were awarded to the top three points scorers in TT Rockstars in each class as well as special certificates for the overall highest scoring class and the class which achieved the highest percentage of questions answered correctly.
A special mention to Ella in Primary 7 who scored the highest number of points across the whole school.
As part of our Maths Week Ireland celebrations children from Primary 4 to Primary 7 took part in ‘Ireland Rocks’ in which they competed against other children from across all of Ireland in answering as many multiplication and division questions correctly as they can within a set playing period.
Upon conclusion of the event, we were delighted to find out that St Mary’s Primary School Dunsford was the highest scoring school in the area stretching from East Down into Downpatrick and to as far up as Newtownards.
Competing against many schools which are significantly larger than us, this was a truly amazing achievement and one which the whole school is extremely proud of.
A huge well done everyone!
