  • Primary 7 Leavers Hoodies

    Mon 23 May 2022

Our Primary 7 children were so excited today when Georgina and Valine from Friends of St Mary's PTA presented them with their Leavers Hoodies.

Our PTA kindly organised the fabulous Leavers hoodies this year for all the boys and girls and generously covered the cost of the hoodies. This was a lovely gesture to mark the time the children have spent in St Mary's.

The P7s are delighted they will have the opportunity to wear these each day instead of their usual school uniform and I get the impression that the hoodies are not coming off any time soon!

  • Sacrament of Confirmation

    Thu 19 May 2022

Congratulations to all the children in Primary 7 who made their Confirmation this morning in St Mary’s Church, Dunsford. It was a beautiful ceremony and the children were absolutely fantastic throughout.

They have worked so hard in preparation for today and this was apparent in their responses throughout the service, in their readings and in their knowledge of the Sacrament.

Many thanks to everyone who made this day possible. We specifically thank Fr Murray and Fr McCloskey for a very special service, class teacher Mrs Green, our wonderful school choir led by Mrs McGrath, Mrs Clarke & Mrs McConvey for the beautiful floral arrangements in the Church and Sean McAlea for helping prepare the chapel for the service. Many thanks also to Mrs C Mullan for preparing our displays and presenting the children's work so well.

We would also like to thank our families and sponsors who have helped the children enormously in their preparations for today, the catechists in the Come Follow Me Team who have worked with the children over a number of years and all the other staff in school who helped out in many different ways to prepare the children for today.

We hope you all enjoyed this morning and have a fantastic day celebrating your special day with your family and friends.

Well done boys and girls the whole school is so proud you.

  • Junior Entrepreneur Programme

    Wed 04 May 2022

Today our Primary 7 children welcomed Olivia Farnan, founder of the ‘Blinky’ which is a baby buggy blanket designed to keep babies and toddlers comfortable when they’re outside for the next stage of their Junior Entrepreneur Programme journey.

The children got the opportunity to ask Olivia a number of questions about entrepreneurship and business and this was a great learning experience for everyone.

Pupils then presented and pitched their business ideas to Olivia via PowerPoint and IMovie advertisements which they have created over the last number of weeks.

Many thanks to Olivia for her advice and encouragement and the children will now proceed to create their own products which they will sell as part of the programme over the coming weeks.
