Keep up to date with all the latest news happening in school at the moment.
This week our pupils took part in our local Eurospar Easter colouring competition. They very kindly donated a lovely Easter egg for the winner in each class and their support is greatly appreciated!
Our P6 & P7 boys and girls competed in the Sacred Heart PS, Dundrum Gaelic Blitz on Monday and had a brilliant time. During the group stages the boys defeated St Joseph's PS Ballykinlar and St Colmcille's PS Downpatrick and narrowly lost to Sacred Heart PS Dundrum. These results proved enough to secure a place in the final. The girls beat St Colmcille's PS Downpatrick and even with losing a closely fought match to Sacred Heart PS Dundrum they also did enough to qualify for their final.
In the finals our girls team started off brilliantly with some great play from Lucy Hay, Caoimhe McDarby and Mollie Hanna amongst others. In a very close match the girls narrowly lost out to a great Sacred Heart PS Dundrum team.
The boys also played Sacred Heart Dundrum in their final and after five long range points from Anthony Clarke and a quick-fire goal from Aidan McMullan they had built up a good lead at half-time. In the second half Sacred Heart fought back but the boys held on to claim the trophy and return to St Mary's as champions.
All the pupils displayed great skill and enthusiasm throughout the matches and many thanks to our friends in Sacred Heart PS for organising the tournament!
