St Vincent de Paul Hampers
This year as always we collected items of food for the St Vincent de Paul Annual appeal. This is a longstanding tradition in St. Mary's PS and it is important to realise that as the celebration of Christmas approaches there are people in our local community who are in less fortunate positions than ourselves.
Many thanks to all the families and friends of the school that donated items of food to this very worthy cause which will hopefully make Christmas that bit easier for some local families.
All-Ireland Kickboxing Success in St. Mary's!
At the recent All-Ireland Kickboxing Championships in Mayo, three of our very own pupils here in St.Mary's Primary School came out on tops!
Oran won two gold medals, Calum won one gold and one silver medal and Hugh also won gold in his event! The whole school is very proud of this amazing achievement and with their coach Joe Ferris taking a kickboxing afterschool club the boys will only be getting better!
Well done boys, keep up the great work!
Christmas Plays - Monday 11th & Tuesday 12th December
Our Christmas Plays were a massive success with every performance completely sold out! All the children performed amazingly and had great fun.
A massive thank you to all the parents, school staff and friends of the school who helped with costumes and the setting up of the hall. The pupils worked so hard in their preparations and there are definitely a few Hollywood stars in the making from St.Mary's, Dunsford!
Open Days
Outrageous Hair Day 20th November to raise awareness of the plight of refugee children.
Halloween Disco
We held our now famous Halloween Disco in Dunsford Old School on Thursday 26th October and as always it was a huge success! The costumes were amazing with ghostly ghouls, vampires, witches and skeletons all on display. The children had a fantastic time and never stopped dancing all night!
Many thanks to all the teaching staff, parents and friends of St. Mary's in preparing the hall and helping out throughout the night.
A very special thanks to Mr. Thomas Duffy, parent of Thomas in P3 for providing the disco, props, drinks, snacks and endless amounts of energy!
