  • ETI Report on Remote Learning

    Tue 18 May 2021

We are absolutely delighted to have been included in and been able to contribute to the Education and Training Inspectorate (ETI) Report on Primary Schools' Delivery, Monitoring and Evaluation of Effective Remote Learning.

This last year has been like no other, the single most challenging year in our school's history. To have had our efforts throughout this time recognised by the ETI is a source of great pride to all the staff, children and stakeholders in St Mary's.

We hope that the account of our journey contained in one of the case studies proves to be helpful to colleagues in other schools and contexts.

  • Sacrament of Confirmation

    Thu 13 May 2021

Congratulations to all the boys and girls in Primary 7 who made their Confirmation this morning in the beautiful sunshine in Dunsford. It was a lovely ceremony and the children were amazing.

They have worked so hard over the past number of weeks and this was apparent in their responses throughout the service, in their readings and in their knowledge of the Sacrament. We are so proud of all their hard work.

Many thanks to everyone who made this day possible. We specifically thank Bishop Treanor and Fr McCloskey for a very special service, class teacher Mrs McGrath and classroom assistant Mrs Wills for all their hard work with the pupils over the past number of weeks, Mrs Mullan and Mrs McGrath for our music, Mrs C Mullan and Mrs Clarke for the wonderful flowers and Sean McAlea for helping prepare the chapel for the service.

I would also like to thank our parents who have been so supportive and patient over the last number of months, the catechists in the Come Follow Me Team who have worked with the children in their preparations with the pupils over a number of years and all the other staff in school who helped out in many different ways to prepare the children for today.
