  • Eco-School 'Swap-Shop' ♻️

    Fri 26 May 2023

Our Eco-School Councillors recently organised a very successful ‘Swap-Shop’ week.

This presented the children with the opportunity to bring in old toys, books etc that they no longer use and to swap these items for something that another child had left in.

Our Eco-Councillors are trying to emphasise the message that we should re-use and re-cycle items as opposed to disposing of things we no longer use.

The week was a huge success. Well done everyone!

  • 🎭 Speech and Drama Festival 🎭

    Thu 25 May 2023

Today we held our Annual Speech & Drama Festival which was a huge success. The festival presents the children with the opportunity to develop their self-confidence, improve their public-speaking skills and enhance their interpersonal skills.

All the children performed admirably and it was apparent how much hard work everyone had put in preparing for today.

Children were presented with certificates and medals for their recitals and a cup was awarded to each Key Stage winner.

We would like to thank Catherine Rice for taking the time to be our special judge this year and for organising and presenting 'The Maureen Rice' Memorial Cup.

Our Primary 7 pupils recently came together with other schools from the Lecale Cluster of Schools to attend a workshop led by the Down and Connor Catholic Schools' Support Service entitled ‘What's Inside?’

This Workshop was delivered by Love for Life – an organisation who engage effectively in the specific area of RSE. • First Holy CommunionπŸ™πŸ»

    Sat 13 May 2023

Congratulations to our Primary 4 children who made their First Holy Communion this morning in a beautiful service. The children were wonderful throughout and a credit to their families and our school.

They have worked so hard over the past number of weeks in preparation for today and this was apparent in their responses throughout the service, in their readings and in their knowledge of the Sacrament.

Many thanks to everyone who made this day possible, including class teacher Mrs Howland, Fr McCloskey for a very special service, Mrs McGrath and our school choir for our music, Mrs C Mullan for displaying the children's work so beautifully, Mrs Clarke for the wonderful flowers and Sean McAlea for helping prepare the chapel for the service.

We would also like to thank the Catechists from the ‘Come Follow Me’ team who have helped the children prepare spiritually for today and all the other staff in school who helped in many different ways to make today so special for the children.

We hope you all enjoyed this morning and have a fantastic day celebrating with your family and friends.
