Keep up to date with all the latest news happening in school at the moment.
There was a fantastic turnout from the whole school community at our Macmillan ‘World’s Biggest Coffee Morning’ last Friday. We managed to raise over £320 for this very special charity and the support from everyone was amazing to see.
To everyone who baked, bought or helped organise this important day in our school calendar thank you so much.
Dear Parents/Guardians
Draft Proposals 604, 605, 606 & 607 – Catholic Post Primary Education in Downpatrick
As I am sure you are aware, there are changes planned for the provision of Post Primary education in Downpatrick. These changes will affect children from our school who are currently in P6 and below. The proposed changes are out for public consultation until 4th October. A pre-publication consultation seeks the views of those most directly affected by the proposed changes at a local level.
Under Article 14 of the Education and Libraries (Northern Ireland) Order 1986, the Education Authority has a statutory requirement, as the proposer of a Development Proposal for a controlled school, to consult with the Board of Governors, parents and teachers of a school.
This pre-publication consultation seeks the views of those most directly affected by the proposed changes at a local level. The Education Authority will also conduct further consultation with schools that may be affected by the proposal. Once responses have been received, the Education Authority will collate all responses received and, if a Development Proposal is required to be published, make a recommendation to its Education Committee. Links to the documents are included here. Have your say!
Case for Change De La Salle HS, St Mary's HS, St Patrick's GS
Pupils today took part in Global Climate Strike Day to raise awareness of the serious issues our planet is now facing. The children of St Mary's Dunsford are demanding action!
The children celebrated Roald Dahl Day by dressing up as their favourite Roald Dahl character. All the classes in school have been immersing themselves in the writer's work through stories, poetry, films and interactive live lessons throughout the day.
Don't the costumes look great?!
