  • Gaelic Blitz

    Fri 03 May 2019

Our school Gaelic teams had a fantastic time today at the annual Sacred Heart P.S. Dundrum Gaelic Blitz.

The Boys team beat the A & B teams from St Joseph's PS Killough and in a hard fought game against eventual winners Sacred Heart PS Dundrum they led by two points going into the last minute of the game. Great play from Dundrum saw them score two quick points to earn a draw which meant that in our final group match against St Francis' PS Drumaroad we needed to win to progress to the final.

In another closely contested match the boys lost by the finest of margins which meant that St Francis' and Sacred Heart progressed on to the final. All the boys played their hearts out, with Odhran Sands, Joshua Keown, John Connor, Calum Rogan and team captain Oran Denvir particularly impressive.

Our girls team put in fantastic performances against St Francis' PS Drumaroad and Sacred Heart PS Dundrum with Abi Bell taking some great scores and Elena Velasquez displaying great defensive skills.

Many thanks to Sacred Heart PS Dundrum especially Mr Austin and Mr Doyle for their organisation of the tournament.
