👶 St Mary’s PS Parent & Toddler Group 🧸

Our Parent & Toddler Group met for the first time today and it was absolutely wonderful to see so many children and parents in attendance.

The children had a fantastic time playing and together and enjoying a range of fun activities whilst the parents had the chance to enjoy a cup of tea and relax for a while.

🧦 Anti-Bullying Week 2023 🧦

This week as part of Anti-Bullying Week the children have participated in activities and learning around this year’s theme 'Make A Noise About Bullying'.

Each class has been extremely busy creating posters, discussing stories and working on scenarios around how to deal with incidents of bullying while our KS2 classes participated in the HIP Psychology Anti-Bullying 2023 Megathon which proved to be an invaluable experience.

To finish off the week, we held a special whole school assembly today informing children of how to reach out and ask for help.

🌟 Dance Success 🥇

It is always great to hear about the children’s achievements outside of school and this week at assembly we were delighted to hear about our Primary 4 pupil Esmee’s recent dance success at Jenna Finnegan’s in house dance competition. Esmee was awarded two certificates graded gold with Honours and two gold medals. She was the youngest competitor to choreograph her own dance. Congratulations Esmee!🤩 We are all so proud of you!🌟👏🏻

🤖 Numbots and TT Rockstars Awards 🎸

The pupils have been working very hard on their Number Facts and Times Tables throughout this first term.

Congratulations to everyone for their achievements in Numbots and TT Rockstars so far and it is fantastic to see how this is translating across into daily numeracy activities.

Special mention to Eoin, Rossa, Madden, Lee & Finlay for achieving 'Rock Hero' status on TT rockstars, which means they are answering each times tables question in under one second!🤯

📖 Parish History Book 📕

We were delighted today to receive a copy of Kevin Crangle’s recently published history book on the Parish of Dunsford & Ardglass.

There is a wealth of interesting local life stories and biographies contained within the book and many of our current pupils’ grandparents and great-grandparents appear in the biographies.

Kevin will be holding a Book Launch and signing event in Ardglass Community Centre on Saturday 25^th November and everyone is welcome to attend.

📝 Work experience 📝

It is always lovely to have pupils come into St Mary’s as part of their work experience in Secondary School and this week we were delighted to welcome back past pupils Cara and Hannah for work experience alongside Rhianna who also came to Dunsford.

The girls had a fantastic time working with our Foundation Stage and Key Stage 1 children and everyone loved having them in school.
