Keep up to date with all the latest news happening in school at the moment.
Congratulations to all the children in Primary 7 who made their Confirmation this morning in St Mary’s Church, Dunsford. It was a beautiful ceremony and the children were absolutely fantastic throughout.
They have worked so hard in preparation for today and this was apparent in their responses throughout the service, in their readings and in their knowledge of the Sacrament.
Many thanks to everyone who made this day possible. We specifically thank Fr McCloskey for a very special service, class teacher Miss Pell, our wonderful school choir led by Mrs McGrath, Mrs Clarke for the beautiful floral arrangements in the Church, Sean McAlea for helping prepare the chapel for the service and Mrs McConville for the beautiful Confirmation cake.
Many thanks also to Mrs C Mullan and Mrs Hanna for preparing our displays and presenting the children's work so well.
We would also like to thank our families and sponsors who have helped the children enormously in their preparations for today, the Catechists in the Come Follow Me Team who have worked with the children over a number of years and all the other staff in school who helped out in many different ways to prepare the children for their special day.
We hope you all enjoyed this morning and have a fantastic day celebrating with family and friends.
Well done boys and girls the whole school is so proud you.
Congratulations to our ‘Stars of the Week’.
Well done everyone! ⭐️👏🏻
Our whole school joined the global celebration of the World Daily Mile Day today.
The Daily Mile provides the children with the opportunity to enjoy the outdoors and take care of their physical and mental health.
A great day was had by all!
As part of Global Intergenerational Week 2023 our Primary 7 children visited Ballyhornan Social Gathering Group to socialise with some of the elderly members of our community.
Pupils had the opportunity to chat and interact with members of the group as well as play a number of games.
The children had a fantastic time with a number of friendships and bonds formed!
Our Primary 6 & Primary 7 girls participated in the Down Netball Club Annual Tournament today which was held in Down Leisure Centre.
Both teams performed admirably, putting on great displays in all their group matches with great skill, determination and teamwork evident throughout.
Well done everyone!
Keep up the great work! 🌟
Our Easter fundraising events, organised by our School Council were a huge success with councillors coordinating and planning a number of events over the Lenten period.
The School Council organised an Easter Raffle, Trocaire Bun Sale & Guess the Mini Eggs in a jar. There was great excitement today as our Raffle took place at our special Easter Assembly with over £700 being raised through events organised and led by the Council.
This was a truly amazing effort from everyone in our school community and we would like to thank everyone for their generous support and kindness.
All proceeds from our Easter fundraising efforts are being donated to Trocaire.
A huge thank you to Olivia’s Granny, who very kindly knitted an Easter Chick for every child in school.
Olivia’s mum organised this for the children and it was another lovely treat before the Easter Holidays!
Congratulations to our ‘Stars of the Week’.
Well done everyone! ⭐️👏🏻
Many thanks to our wonderful PTA, Friends of St Mary's who today presented each child with a lovely Easter Egg.
