Keep up to date with all the latest news happening in school at the moment.
Congratulations to our Primary 4 children who made their First Holy Communion this morning in a beautiful service. The children were wonderful throughout and a credit to their families and our school.
They have worked so hard over the past number of months in preparation for today and this was apparent in their responses throughout the service, in their readings and in their knowledge of the Sacrament.
Many thanks to everyone who made this day possible, including class teacher Mrs Howland, Fr McCloskey for a very special service, Mrs McGrath and our school choir for our music, Mrs C Mullan for displaying the children's work so beautifully, Mrs Clarke for the wonderful flowers, Mrs M Wilson for the amazing cake and Sean McAlea for helping prepare the chapel for the service.
We would also like to thank the Catechists from the ‘Come Follow Me’ team who have helped the children prepare spiritually for today and all the other staff in school who helped in many different ways to make today so special for the children.
We hope you all enjoyed this morning and have a fantastic day celebrating with your family and friends.
Sunday will also be an extra special occasion for St Mary’s as two of our brilliant Gaelic footballers, Keeva and Sophia in Primary 7 will be taking to the field at half-time in the Final to represent their club Ard Ghlais CLG.
This promises to be a fantastic experience for both girls, and we can’t wait to hear all about it next week in school!
Joined by our friends from St Patrick’s Saul, St Malachy’s Kilclief, St Joseph’s Killough and St Joseph’s Strangford a great day was had by all.
Our combined boys and girls team were narrowly beaten in the final by St Patrick's PS Saul but the level of teamwork, skill and enthusiasm on display by our girls and boys teams was truly tremendous and we are very proud of you all.
Many thanks to Kilclief GAC and Mr Clifford from St Malachy's Primary for the organisation of the tournament and well done to everyone who participated today.
This morning our P7 pupils got to interview and present their Junior Entrepreneur Programme ideas to two local entrepreneurs, Conor from Polly’s Fruit and Vegetables, and Robert from Strangford Coffee Roastery.
Conor and Robert were our Dragon’s today and they listened to and asked questions to the children on their products. The Dragons were both so impressed with all four groups presentations that they have decided to allow all four products through to production.
Thank you to Conor and Robert for taking the time to come into our visit our school.
P7 will now begin advertising and making their products and these will be ready to sell in the coming weeks.
