• 🙏 Primary 7 Confirmation Retreat ⛪️

  Today our Primary 7 pupils took part in a retreat in Dunsford Old School to assist them in their preparations for their forthcoming Sacrament of Confirmation. 

   

  During the retreat led by the Ignite Retreat Team, the pupils completed a number of workshops to help deepen their understanding of the Sacrament which they will receive on the 26th  April.

   

  It was wonderful day with lots of reflective opportunities which proved to be the ideal preparation ahead of Confirmation.

  

• ♻️Arc 21♻️

  We were delighted to welcome Arc 21, a Waste Management group who represent our local council into school today to deliver a number of recycling workshops to the children.

   

  Primary 1 and Primary 2 completed planting using newspaper pots, P3 and P4 had fun with origami, P5 & P6 made recycled Eco-Badges and P7 completed an interactive recycling quiz.

   

  A brilliant and very informative day for everyone! 

  

• 🧪Science Assembly🧑🏻‍🔬

  Following on from the great success of Science Week 2023 in school in which budding scientists from all classes took part and completed several exciting science investigations we were delighted to welcome Chris from EurekaSeekers into school today for a special Science assembly.

   

  Chris, ably assisted by our wonderful scientists completed a number of exhilarating experiments which had everyone gasping in awe.

   

  Chris will be coming into school in Term 3 to deliver an After-School Science Club which is sure to be a great success judging by today!

• 🌟Pupil Achievements 🥁 🥋

  It is always great to hear about the children’s achievements outside of school and this week at assembly two pupils displayed their individual awards to the rest of the school.

   

  - 🥋 Congratulations to Isabelle in P5 who was recently awarded the Karate Red Belt after undergoing various assessments from her coach to determine her next Karate grade. Isabelle is now working towards achieving her yellow belt before the end of June.🥋 

   

  - 🥁 A huge well done to Ella in P6 who was recently awarded a certificate from Trinity College London for Grade 1 Drums. I’m sure that her coach who is a member of the band ‘The Answer’ was delighted with her drumming exam success. 

   

  Well done girls!🌟 We are all proud of you!🤗

   

  

• First Confession 🙏🏻 🕯

  Congratulations to all the boys and girls in Primary 3 who made their First Confession this morning in the beautiful sunshine in Dunsford. It was a lovely ceremony and the children were fantastic throughout. 

   

  They have worked so hard over the past number of weeks in preparation for today and this was apparent in their responses throughout the service, in their readings and in their knowledge of the Sacrament. 

   

  Many thanks to everyone who made this day possible, including class teacher Mrs Howland, Fr McCloskey for a very special service, Mrs McGrath for leading our school choir and our P3 classroom assistant Mrs Mullan for displaying the children's work so beautifully.

   

  We hope you all enjoyed this morning and have a fantastic day celebrating with your family and friends.

   

  Well done boys and girls the whole school is very proud of you.

  

• 💐 Eurospar Mother's Day Colouring Competition Winners 💐

  This week our pupils took part in our local Eurospar Mother’s Day Colouring competition.

  Huge congratulations to Keeva in Primary 6 who has now read over 500,000 words in Accelerated Reader since September - an amazing achievement which you should be very proud of! 

   

  Next target is to become our first Accelerated Reader word millionaire for this school year!
