  • Friends of St Mary's PTA Easter Art Winners

    Wed 31 Mar 2021

Friends of St Marys PTA ran an Easter art competition through their Facebook page and after a very difficult process of judging a huge array of entries we managed to narrow it down to four winners.

Well done to Rory, Rory, Izzy and James. Some fanastic artwork was produced and we hope you enjoy the eggs!

  • Eurospar Ardglass Donation

    Tue 30 Mar 2021

Many thanks to Fiona from Eurospar Ardglass who delivered a range of party treats to the children today for their class parties before school breaks for the Easter holidays.

Pictured are some of our Primary 5 & Primary 6 children, delighted to be receiving these items.

Many thanks to Fiona and everyone from Eurospar for the continual support and very generous donations to St Mary's.

  • Road Safety at St Mary's

    Thu 25 Mar 2021

Downpatrick Neighbourhood Policing & the Policing and Community Safety Partnership (PCSP) Team visited the school yesterday delivering school road safety awareness signs. These signs are aimed at raising awareness around parking and driving adjacent to school entrances.

Please take care when driving or parking near our school.

  • Hail Glorious St Patrick

    Tue 16 Mar 2021

Saint Patrick made a very special visit to school today ahead of his feast day tomorrow.

Our glorious patron saint arrived to the sunshine in St Mary’s PS Dunsford in his chariot to visit the children this morning. The chariot was led by donkeys Luna and Denis from Kinedale farm in Ballynahinch and donkeys carried shamrock in baskets. St. Patrick told the children the story of St. Patrick and shamrock was blessed and distributed to children to bring home to their families.

We would like to thank Fr McCloskey and Orla from Tuesday’s Child, a charity that helps children in extreme hardship as part of their St. Patrick’s Day Appeal to raise funds for child boat refugees for organising today’s event. It was a great experience for the children and will live long in the memory of everyone.

  • Ice Cream Treat

    Fri 12 Mar 2021

It was fantastic to have some of our wonderful children back in school this week and the fun had by everyone was evident throughout the week both in the classrooms and at play times.

As a small reward for all their hard work over the last few challenging months and to mark their first full week back to school, children in Primary 1 to Primary 3 were treated to a lovely Brennan’s Ice Cream today.

We look forward to welcoming the rest of our children back to school in the near future!
