• Christmas Dinner

  Today was Christmas Dinner Day and Christmas Jumper Day in St Mary’s Dunsford.

   

  The children had a beautiful dinner and some festive fun with Christmas karaoke led by our magnificent Primary 7 children.

   

  Many thanks to all our staff for organising today and making it so special for everyone.  

  

• Christmas Shows

  Christmas began early in Dunsford over the last few days with two fantastic Christmas Shows performed by our Foundation Stage & Key Stage 1 children.

   

  Primary 1 & Primary 2 performed ‘Christmas Counts’ and Primary 3 & 4 performed ‘A King is Born’.

   

  All the children performed excellently with fantastic singing and drama skills on display. It was simply amazing to see the children take to stage with such confidence and the array of talent onstage was truly wonderful.

   

  A huge well done to everyone and many thanks to our parents and whole school community for their support at both performances.  

  

• Gymnastics Success

  Today Caitlin in Primary 1 presented her ‘Gymnast of the Week’ certificate to the other children at assembly.

   

  Caitlin was awarded her certificate for;

• Work Experience

  It is always lovely to have past-pupils return to St Mary’s Dunsford and this week we were delighted to welcome back Davy Maguire for his Year 12 work experience.

   

  Davy had a fantastic week working with our Primary 3 & Primary 4 children and everyone loved having him back in school.

   

  One pupil in particular was extremely excited to have Davy in her class this week – Nuala who is Davy’s niece!

• Daily Mile - Santa Run

  Today we participated in ‘The Daily Mile SANTA RUN’.

   

  The Daily Mile supports children and young people to feel fitter, healthier and happier.

   

  The children had great fun dressing in their Christmas jumpers & Santa hats and what a great way to get into Christmas Spirit with some exercise! 

  

• Pupil Achievements

  It is always great to hear about the children’s achievements outside of school and this week at assembly three pupils displayed their individual certificates and medals to the rest of the school.

   

  - Well done to Olivia in P3 for her Dancing certificate which she obtained through her weekly classes with Jenna Finnegan Dance Company.

   

  - Congratulations to Eva-Mae in P4 who won three medals in her most recent Gymnastics competition achieved through Sokol Gymnastics in a high competitive field.

   

  - A huge well done to Dara in P4 who was recently awarded a certificated from Ardglass GAC for being the most improved player in his age group. A great achievement!
