  • โ›ช๏ธ Visit of Relic of Blessed Carlo Acutis ๐Ÿ™

    Fri 12 Apr 2024

    The relic of 15 year-old Carlo Acutis a Catholic Italian teenager will be brought to the Parish by Monsignor Anthony Figueiredo on 13th and 14th May 2024.

    From a young age, Carlo had a special love for God and he loved to pray the rosary. After he made his First Holy Communion, he went to Mass as often as he could, and he made Holy Hours before and after Mass. He went to confession weekly and asked his parents to take him on pilgrimages - to the places of the Saints and to the sites of Eucharistic miracles.

    Carlo was an ordinary teenager with an extraordinary love for God. He excelled at computers and used his skills to build a website on Eucharistic Miracles in the world.

    Carlo died within 10 days of being diagnosed with Leukaemia in October 2006. Blessed Carlo was beatified by Pope Francis on 10th October 2020 and is the first millennial to be declared 'Blessed'. Pope Francis referred to Carlo as a model of holiness in a digital age.

    Carlo’s motto was;

    “To always be close to Jesus, that’s my life plan”.

    Our whole School Community is greatly looking forward to attending the Mass on the 14th May led by Monsignor Anthony Figueiredo in St Mary’s Church, Dunsford and It promises to be a very special event, with people coming from afar to venerate Carlo’s relic.

    Today in school we held a special assembly in preparation of the visit of the Relic of Blessed Carlo Acutis and gave the children the opportunity to find out more about him.
