P7 Visit to Down County Museum – A Journey into the Past
On Tuesday, our P7 pupils visited the Down County Museum for a hands-on exploration of their Famine Topic. The children took part in a fascinating Famine Workshop, where they learned all about life during The Great Irish Famine through engaging activities and storytelling.
As part of their visit, the children toured the Museum and even stepped inside the historic Gaol. Mrs Devlin and the pupils had the unique experience of being locked in a cell, giving them a real sense of what life was like in the past.
The trip was both educational and enjoyable, sparking curiosity and deepening understanding of this important period in Irish history. A huge thank you to the staff at Down County Museum for making the day so memorable and fun!
