Digital Leaders

What is a Digital Leader?

At the start of this year children in Key Stage 2 are given the opportunity to apply for a school leadership role in ICT. These people are Digital Leaders.

They had to go through a formal interview and explain why they felt they would be a good person to do the job and also explain what experience they had in relation to ICT and iPads. The successful candidates also had to show a passion for iPad and ICT so they could pass on their enthusiasm to the pupils in other classes as well as the teachers they would be assisting.

Throughout the year, these Digital Leaders will get special iPad and ICT training, they will be asked to preview apps before the pupils use them and suggest apps and programmes that our school may be able to use to increase the profile of ICT and iPads throughout the school.

Our Digital Leaders applications are open for 2025/2026 with interviews due to take place on Thursday 25th September with results being shared on Friday 26th September at our whole school assembly.

Responsibilities of our Digital Leaders:

Supporting Technology Use in Classrooms: They will assist adults and fellow students with the use of digital tools and resources, ensuring everyone can make the most of our technology.

Promoting Online Safety: Our Digital Leaders will help educate their peers about safe and responsible internet use, including how to protect personal information and avoid online risks.

Leading Digital Projects: They will spearhead various digital initiatives, such as creating multimedia presentations, managing the slideshow in school, and organising the Safer Internet Week events in school.

Providing Technical Assistance: The Digital Leaders will be on hand to troubleshoot common technical issues, helping to keep our digital learning environment running smoothly.

Encouraging Digital Citizenship: They will promote positive online behaviour and digital etiquette, fostering a respectful and inclusive online community.
